I know that a list of drop rates and thresholds for the most recent boss pet additions was given by Runescapegold2007.com, but for the less mathematically-inclined players I’ve devised a similar table giving the effective drop rates. That is, adjusted for threshold changes in drop rates, how many kills are you likely to need to get a boss pet drop. All effective drop rates are given as 1/####. All numbers are rounded up.

Boss______________Effective Drop Rate
Araxxor………………………..350
Araxxi…………………………..350
Kree’arra………………………2667 (1000)
Commander Zilyana……2667 (1000)
General Graardor………..2667 (1000)
K’ril Tsutsaroth…………….2667 (1000)
Nex ……………………………..1067
Kalphite Queen……………1334
Kalphite King………………..1067
Corporeal beast……………1334
Giant Mole……………………1334 (500)
Har-aken………………………107
King Black Dragon……….1334
Legiones………………………1000
Chaos Elemental………….1334
Dagannoth Kings…………2000
Queen Black Dragon……1334

Again, what this means is that if you were to kill QBD 1334 times, over the course of those kills you would have a 1/1334 chance of a pet dropping. This effectively makes her drop rate 1/1334.

Notice that all hard mode drop rates, as well as those for the Legio bosses, remain the same, as they were less than or equal to the thresholds. Legiones and Dag Kings are all treated as the same monster in terms of killcount, so the rates are given across kills of any included bosses.

For those who would like the check my math (which I hope is everyone, being a stranger on the internet) I’ll use QBD as an example.

She has a drop rate of 1/2500 with a threshold of 500, which means:

Kills 1-500: 1/2500(500) = .2
Kills 501-1000: 2/2500(500) = .4
Kills 1001-1500: 3/2500(500) = .6, but we only need another .4 so (2/3)*500 = 333.33
This gives a total of 500+500+334 = 1334 kills
